4-H is a national youth program for boys and girls from ages 8 to 19. 4-H members:

Have fun

Learn by doing

Make new friends

Help others feel good about themselves

 

There is a wide variety of unique projects--pet care, food preparation, aerospace, arts and crafts, leadership, livestock and many more--over 100 opportunities. There are other exciting activities such as camps, fairs, day damps, judging contests, and community service.

The 4-H year is October 1 through September 30

Each project area has a different enrollment deadline

Bingham County projects are exhibited at the Bingham County Fair. Top projects are then eligible to exhibit at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot.

 

Cost to Enroll:

$4.00 for each child plus $1.00 insurance. Materials have additional costs.

$9.50 for horse enrollment includes insurance and state horse fees.

Day Camps and Fun Days may have additional fees.

Cloverbud Projects

Bingham County has over 30 Cloverbud projects designed for children ages 5-7. Each project is $.50 plus the one-time enrollment fee of $4.00 per child, and $1.00  insurance. Cloverbud projects may be displayed at the Bingham County Fair and will receive participation ribbons.

 

4-H Leaders

Adult volunteers are the backbone of the 4-H program. They organize, teach and mentor youth. For liability insurance and program safety, adult volunteers must apply and be screened. They may lead only 1 child or 100. Leader materials are free of charge, but leaders must also pay $1.00 for insurance.
