Streaming Media Frequnetly Asked Questions

Q: When I use Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape Web Browser and click on a streaming media
link I receive an error, "File not found" why?

A: The real media plugin is not registered with the browser. Go to http://www.real.com and install/re-install the latest version of the Real Player.

Q:What is a plugin?

A: A plugin is a small helper application that tells the browser what to do with certain files.

Q. I have Real player installed on my Mac, but when I click on a Real media link Quicktime opens. How do I get Real Player to open .rm files?

A. Open Real Player. Select Help->Check Media Types. The bottom left corner of the dialog box
that opens has a button, "Save Media Types" click it. Any open browsers will close.
