WELCOME TO UIIF

As of Fall 2005, the University of Idaho in Idaho Falls (UIIF) implemented a single point for computer account authentication. Any student taking a UIIF course in a UIIF computer lab must have a computer account. Computer accounts are available in the Student Services office located in the Upper floor of the SUB, University Place. The computer accounts are $25.00 per semester.

Services included with computer accounts:Email account:
Your computer account provides an email account. We provide POP3 access off the campus network. We also provide a Web mail interface to check your email from anywhere you have Internet access @ http://www.if.uidaho.edu/mail/

Web space:
Your computer account gives you disk space on a server. You can upload files for public viewing
in the Internet.

Computer lab access:
You have a unique login in the computer lab. The UIIF IT department provides paper for printing
at no extra charge. In addition to accessing the software loaded on the computers, you have free printing access. We have 1.5 T1 Data lines coming into the Campus dedicated to Internet Access.

Dial up access:
We provide limited ISP services. We have a bank of 28.8k modems. This will allow you to surf the Internet and send email.

Laptop wireless network registration:
We set up an online registration system allowing UIIF students access to our wireless network. You will need your computer account username and password to register your laptop.

NOTE:

Anyone possessing a card key, may access these computer rooms 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access Cards can be obtained in the Student Services office.
