Ray W. Rigby, attorney and
rancher, has practiced law for 53 years. He is presently in the firm of
Rigby, Thatcher, Andrus, Rigby and Moeller. A Rexburg native, he received
his bachelor’s in 1948 and juris doctorate in 1950 from the University
of Idaho.
Mr. Rigby has been a prosecuting
attorney, served as state senator and is the recipient of many awards
throughout the state and region. A member of the Idaho State Bar for 50
years, he is also the recipient of the State Bar Pro Bono Award, Professionalism
Award, and the Idaho Distinguished Lawyer Award. He has been honored with
the University of Idaho Silver and Gold Award.
A recognized expert in water
and rural electrification laws, Mr. Rigby is frequently called upon to
speak and present papers at seminars and conventions and to testify before
state and congressional committees on power rates.
In recognition of his generous
contributions to the University of Idaho and to the State of Idaho, Mr.
Rigby is awarded the President’s Medallion.
