Outstanding Affiliate Faculty Award

   H. Larry Spilker’s path to the University of Idaho started with a bachelor’s degree in 1965 from the University of Utah, School of Business. In 1968, Larry was awarded a Juris Doctor degree also from the University of Utah. He served as a Staff Attorney for the Idaho Nuclear Company and Aerojet Nuclear Company until 1972 when he was promoted to General Counsel for Aerojet. Larry continued his legal work at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory until his semi-retirement in 1995 from Lockheed-Martin.

Students in the University of Idaho – Idaho Falls programs have been the recipients of Mr. Spilker’s broad base of experience. His ability to incorporate actual court cases into the classroom has given his students real life applications of government contract law and labor law. Larry began teaching for UI in the Fall of 1968 and has taught each fall and spring semester since and has plans to continue for many more years. Larry is active with the Development Workshop and other volunteer community activities such as mediation with the small claims court.

The University of Idaho – Idaho Falls wishes to thank him for his dedication and contribution to our students’ successes by presenting him with the Outstanding Affiliate Faculty Award.
