Outstanding Environmental Science Faculty Award
Maxine Dakins has been awarded the Outstanding Environmental Science Faculty Award. Dr. Dakins first joined the UI - Idaho Falls in 1994 as a Research Associate, after completing her Ph.D. in Environmental Science at SUNY-Syracuse. In 1997, she was selected in a nation wide search of over 80 applicants for the first (and only) tenure track environmental science faculty position. She is the main point of contact for the Environmental Science program in Idaho Falls and her active involvement in teaching, research and advising are reflected in the continuing growth of the program - 5 undergraduates and 20 graduate students.
Dr. Dakins was selected from over 80 faculty in the Environmental Science program, representing 26 departments and every college at UI for this award.
