
General Information
The University of Idaho. Idaho Falls, is a satellite campus of the University of Idaho, Moscow. UI-Idaho Falls offers graduate degrees in Computer Science. Classes are taught either at the Idaho Falls campus, or via delivery from the Computer Science Department at Moscow.
The University of Idaho, Idaho Falls, computer science curricula is more than "programming" or the use of "software tools". It is scientific and engineering based to address the science of computing, i.e., the study of algorithms. A student in the program will have the opportunity to explore and discover the exciting state-of-the-art information in the following areas:
problem solving techniques using
a computer;
computing languages and their
organization;
computer operating systems; their
design and application;
computer architecture and the
latest technologies to enable fast computation;
data communication and computer
networks (including Internet);
computer graphics
software engineering, including
design and testing of the latest object-oriented technologies, such as Java and
C++;
files and databases.
Knowledge in such areas will prepare the student to be competitive in the industries of tomorrow and be able to solve challenging problems with state-of-the-art technologies. Not only will a UI Idaho Falls Computer Science education provide an exciting challenge for the student but will also provide the basis for a well-paying life-long career.
The University of Idaho, Idaho Falls, has three computer lab facilities with 24-hour access. Dial-up access is also provided.
