Maxine (Max) Dakins, Ph.D.
Environmental Science


Max is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Science Program at the University of Idaho in Idaho Falls. 
Max_Dakins, Ph.D.She is currently serving as Interim Director of the Environmental Science Program.

Max has a Ph.D. in Environmental Science with a concentration in modeling and risk assessment from the State University of New York - College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. She has worked in the past as an Instructor in the fields of risk analysis and statistics, as a private consultant, and as a statistician and group manager for Union Carbide Corporation.  Besides risk assessment, her research interests include uncertainty analysis, decision analysis to support environmental decision making, environmental data analysis, and the public’s role in decision making for natural resource policy.
